Shannon Neustater Obituary, Death – We mourn the loss of Shannon Neustater of Oakbank, Manitoba, on November 6, 2023, with heavy hearts and a lot of affection. Husband Ken, son Landon, parents Robert & Virginia Lanoway, sisters Sherry Hofer (Curtis), Tracey Conboy (David), and Reg Lanoway (Shane), as well as a large number of other relatives, friends, and coworkers, are all that remain to cherish her memory.
On August 31, 1973, Robert and Virginia Lanoway welcomed Shannon into the world. She assisted on the family’s farm and construction business while growing up in Beausejour, where she also drove tractors and other equipment. As the eldest of four children, she was always the one to bravely set the example for her younger siblings to follow.
Ken and her were wed on July 22, 2006. They enjoyed spending time together, cooking, and hosting guests in addition to traveling to see relatives. When Landon was born in 2008, they were together most of the time. In addition to enjoying their nine years of residence in Oakbank, Shannon adored being a wife and mother. Their dog, Chico, lived with Shannon all the time and was always at her side. He enjoyed cuddling and naps next to her.
Over the course of her 23-year teaching career, Shannon has loved working in a number of schools. She is presently the vice principal of Oakbank Elementary School, as well as Beausejour Early Years School, Oakbank Middle Years School, and Anola Elementary. She held a number of jobs and enjoyed forming relationships with everyone. With every role she played, her confidence grew as she refined her abilities.
Shannon prioritized helping others, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and would bake her renowned lasagna for anyone in need of consolation or encouragement. Shannon was unique and will never be replaced. Her death has left a huge hole in all of our lives. It is a blessing that we got to spend this life with her. The memories of our time together will always be with us.
At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, there will be a memorial service at the Brokenhead River Community Hall, located at 320 Veterans Lane, Beausejour, MB.
