Sam Shrouder Obituary, Death – Everyone at Southport Football Club is inconsolably upset to learn of the demise of our Life President Sam Shrouder, who died away earlier today. Sam Shrouder had served in that role for many years. It is a monument to the work that Sam was involved with at the Club over the course of many, many years that the Sam Shrouder Stand is located at The Big Help Stadium.
It is likely that the majority of people are aware that Sam has been battling illness for some time, but unfortunately, that battle was lost today. Our sincere condolences go out to Linda, Sam’s wife, as well as the rest of his family and friends who were affected by his passing.
We will be bringing a full tribute to Sam in the coming days, and we invite people who knew him to write in with their tributes, which we will include on our website and in a future matchday program. “I have lost a great friend who I have known for more than three decades,” stated the Club Director, Steve Porter. Sam was the most wonderful person that anyone could ever hope to have the pleasure of meeting. Other than the fact that our thoughts are with his wife Linda, his son Ben, and the rest of his family at this time, I really don’t know what else to say at this moment.
