Richie, as he was affectionately known, dedicated an incredible 50 years of his life to the Butler Fire Department, becoming an icon within our ranks. His commitment and passion for serving the community set a standard that inspired us all. As an Exempt Fireman with the State of New Jersey, Rich demonstrated not only his loyalty to our local department but also his dedication to the broader firefighting community.
Rich’s journey with the Butler Fire Department saw him take on various roles, each marked by his unwavering sense of duty and leadership. Serving as the Captain of the Kinney Hose Company (Engine 341), Rich exemplified the qualities of a true leader—courage, resilience, and a commitment to the safety of others. Even after stepping down from his role as captain, Rich continued to be an active and engaged member of our family, currently serving as a dedicated member of our Fire Police.
