Mary Townsend Obituary, A Life Lived with Passion And Purpose

Mary Townsend Obituary, Death – Mary Ann Townsend was a much-loved part of the Charles City community, and today we have gathered to honor and commemorate her life. Although our hearts are heavy, we are filled with thankfulness for a life that was lived to the utmost fullest, because we have come here to honor and commemorate her. In spite of the fact that she was 78 years old when she passed away on November 11, 2023 at the Floyd County Medical Center, Mary Ann’s passing was calm and straightforward despite the fact that she had reached the end of her life. She affected many people’s lives, and when she passed away, she left behind a legacy of love, giving, and a strong feeling of community in their lives.

Because Mary Ann was born with a personality that radiated warmth and a heart that was filled to the brim with compassion, she was able to make a positive impact on the lives of a significant number of individuals. Only the beloved memories she made and the indelible impact she left on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her will be able to fill the vacuum that her loss has caused in our hearts and minds. A memorial service will be held at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in remembrance of Mary Ann and in recognition of the extraordinary life she led.

The memorial ceremony will be staged as a celebration of her life as well as her passing, and will pay tribute to the incredible journey she took throughout her lifetime. The funeral service will be presided over by Pastor Russ Leeper, who is now serving as the pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. This is because Mary was a committed member of that church. Before the memorial service, the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home will serve as the location for get-togethers of family and friends of the deceased.  These get-togethers will get under way at 9:30 in the morning and carry on until 10:30 in the morning, which is when the memorial service will get under way for real. Mary Ann’s life serves as a powerful illustration of the transformative potential of community and the grace that can be acquired by selfless giving with no expectation of receiving anything in return.
