Drew Pickering Obituary, In Loving Memory of Drew Pickering

Drew Pickering Obituary, Death Drew Jacob Pickering, born on June 9, 1995, was a beloved member of the community. He was always there for his family and friends, and he was always reliable with his blackberry. Drew, of Amarillo, TX, died Saturday, November 11, 2023. Drew went to public schools in Amarillo, where he graduated from Randall High School and went on to attend West Texas A&M University. Drew worked as a computer programmer for the law firm of Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott.
Drew exemplified selflessness to a fault. Instead of celebrating his own birthday, he would throw a celebration in honour of his friends and family on another day and give them lavish gifts. He never turned down a plea for help and he managed to make everyone feel like they mattered. Drew’s anxiety about being a parent vanished the moment he laid eyes on Piper. Piper was his entire world, and he was a terrific parent to her. On Sundays, he and his kids, Rachael and Piper, would watch the Cowboys game, and he and his brothers would spend hours playing video games. His mother was a strong figure in his life and a great teacher.

Drew, an avid viewer of The Golden Girls, always had a tale or joke to share when the mood called for it. He was a tragic loss; he was truly unique. We adore you, Drew Pickering, to the moon and back. Piper Pickering, his longtime girlfriend Rachael Widener, his parents Wendy Volden and Jason Pickering, his stepfathers Greyson Pickering and Kerrington Pickering, and his brothers Bailey Pickering and his wife Macy, Matthew Pickering, Kian Volden, and Kerrington’s paternal grandparents Kathy and Van Northern, all of Amarillo, Texas
Erick Kirby will preside over memorial services on November 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors took care of the arrangements.
