Donnie Lane Obituary, Death Mr. Donnie Allen Lane, 69, passed away unexpectedly at the East Georgia Regional Medical Centre in Statesboro on Sunday, November 12th, 2023, following pneumonia-related complications. Donnie’s parents, John Allen Lane and Bernisteen Davis Lane, passed away before he was born; thus, they brought him into the world on August 9, 1954 in Statesboro, Georgia. His parents have both recently passed away. In 1972, he graduated from Metter High School, where he had previously studied.
He spent his entire life in Aline, Georgia. He retired after working for ITT Grinnell and Briggs & Stratton for a combined 26 years. His previous employer was Metter Industries. Donnie was renowned as a “jack of all trades” because of his extensive repair and building skills. Michael Allen Lane and Nicholas Allen Lane, as well as his parents and sister, Wanda Lane Smith, all predeceased him. Donnie’s family consists of his Portal, Georgia-based wife of 49 years, Kay Allmond Lane, and their daughter, Crystal Lane; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Lane, of Statesboro; his brother-in-law, Billy Allmond, of Waynesville, North Carolina; Donnie’s Portal-based sisters-in-law, Diane Allmond and Bonnie Allmond; Donnie’s Faulkville, Georgia-based aunt and uncle, Ben and Betty J. Davis Wil
There will be a private funeral for immediate family and friends at a later date.
