Daryl Wynia Obituary, Muskegon Michigan, Death Notice and Service Information

Daryl Wynia Obituary, Death – On November 9, 2023, Daryl Pier Wynia, 41 years old, a resident of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep. On September 27, 1982, in the town of Sheldon, Iowa, he was brought into the world by his parents, David and Bonny (Mulder) Wynia.

Daryl moved to Michigan with his family when he was just two years old, and he has lived there for the majority of his life. He attended the Madison Square Church throughout his childhood. He received his elementary and middle school education at Grandville Christian Schools and his high school education from Union High School.

He was a member of the football team for the Union. At the age of 18, Daryl enlisted in the United States Army, where he received instruction to become a Humvee mechanic. After completing his time in the military, he went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Management at Ferris State University.

During his time there, he was elected to the position of vice president of his class. He put his degree to use by working for GM/Ally Bank in Detroit, Lansing, and Chicago, Illinois. These locations are all in the state of Michigan. He was the youngest executive GM has ever employed in North America. Since 2013, Daryl has made his home and maintained a career throughout the states of Texas, Michigan, and California until moving back to Michigan in the fall of 2022.

He cheered for the University of Michigan football team with unwavering zeal and commitment. He had a deep love for the Lord, for his nation, for his family, for his friends, and for his fellow service members. Even though he had been dealing with health issues for the past few years, he was still a wise man who enjoyed making other people laugh and who inspired them.

His loved ones and friends will miss him very much after his passing. Daryl is survived by his mother, Bonny Mulder-Behnia, and step-father Jahan Behnia; sister Joni Marie Wynia, nephew Ronald (Tre) Word III and fiancée Emily Lieb; step-mother Crystal Wynia; grandfather Al Mulder (and Joanna Meyer); and a large number of extended family members in the Mulder, Wynia, and Ferris families. Daryl also leaves behind a dog named Dax.

His grandfather, Darlene Mulder, grandmother, Joyce Vander Well, and aunt, Eva Nickles, all passed away before him. His father, Dave Wynia, was the first to pass away. On Thursday, November 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., there will be a visitation at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Alt and Shawmut Hills Chapel, which is located at 2120 Lake Michigan Drive in Grand Rapids. Fort Custer National Cemetery in Kalamazoo will be the location of the interment on Friday, November 17, at 11:30 a.m. The Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 18 at 11 AM at Madison Square Church, which can be found at 1441 Madison Ave SE in Grand Rapids.
