Craig Garmyn Obituary, Lansing, Michigan Resident Has Died

Craig Garmyn Obituary, Death – Craig “Gump” J. Garmyn passed away in Lansing, Michigan, on November 6, 2023. On July 6, 1965, in Lansing, Richard and Patricia (Leseth) Garmyn had their first child. After attending St. Therese Catholic School, “Gump” continued his schooling at Lansing Catholic High School, where he eventually graduated in 1983.

Following that, he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Building and Construction Management by Michigan State University, his former place of education. Following his graduation, he began working for the family business, Vic Garmyn and Son Company. Following that, he was employed at Gumps Barbeque, which he later acquired and ran until his untimely death.

Dad, Richard Garmyn, siblings Gary, Cathy, Tom (Carrie), Keith, Jane, and Mo (Toby) Parisian, nieces and nephews Brittany, Brandon, Justin, Carly Jo, Bradley, Evan, and Blake, great nephews Bennett, Murphy, Calvin, and Aiden, and dog, Leo, are all alive to mourn Gump. His mother Patricia and sister-in-law Gretchen Garmyn both died before him.

The funeral mass will be place at St. Therese Catholic Church, 102 W. Randolph in Lansing, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The ceremony will be officiated by Reverend Father John Fain. The family will welcome friends at the Lansing Chapel of the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and again from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a Rosary prayer at 7:00 PM. Tuesday, starting at ten in the morning, the visiting will continue in the church. If someone would prefer, they can give donations to the Capital Area Humane Society in instead of flowers.
